Pune to Ganpatipule Trip by Cab: 3 Day Konkan Package with Ratnagiri and Jaigad

📍 Ganpatipule Maharashtra Pune Cab Trips

By Bharat Yatra Team · · 2 min read

Ganpatipule is famous for its self-manifested Ganpati temple right on a clean Konkan beach. The drive is long, so a 3-day plan (2 nights) lets you enjoy the coast instead of just sitting in the car. A private cab also helps on the Kumbharli ghat and narrow Konkan roads.

Quick facts

  • Distance from Pune: About 330 to 350 km one way
  • Drive time: 7 to 8 hours each way including breaks
  • Best time to go: October to March; April to June for Alphonso mangoes; monsoon is wet and many beach activities stop
  • Ideal for: Families, couples and devotees who want beach plus temple

Suggested itinerary

  • Day 1, 5:30 AM: Leave Pune via Satara and Karad, cross the Kumbharli ghat to Chiplun and continue to Ganpatipule. Reach by evening and watch the sunset at the beach.
  • Day 2, morning: Ganpatipule temple darshan and the pradakshina (circumambulation) of the hill.
  • Day 2, afternoon: Prachin Konkan museum, Malgund (poet Keshavsut memorial) and Aare-Ware beach.
  • Day 3, morning: Jaigad Fort and the Ratnagiri lighthouse or Thiba Point if time allows; Alphonso mango shopping in season.
  • Day 3, afternoon: Start return to Pune; reach late evening.

What a cab package usually includes

  • Private AC cab with a verified driver (sedan, Ertiga/Innova or Tempo Traveller – your choice)
  • Fuel, tolls, parking and driver allowance
  • Pickup and drop at your home, society or hotel in Pune
  • Flexible stops for food, photos and washroom breaks

Usually not included:

  • Temple/monument entry tickets, boating, rides and activities
  • Meals and hotel stay (unless you book a stay package)
  • Personal expenses and any extra km or waiting beyond the agreed plan

Practical tips

  • Book your stay well in advance on weekends and during Ganesh festival.
  • Swim only where lifeguards and flags allow; Konkan currents can be strong.
  • Konkan food is mostly fish and coconut-based; tell us if you need pure vegetarian options along the way.
  • Avoid driving the ghat sections after dark.
